How to Offer Two Cents

Ever been in a position where you felt left behind?
Where you felt your mates were making things happen with their lives, and you could not seem to figure your life out?

The absence of Bliss in this world is a lack of solutions.

Anytime I am not engaged in what I do best, I love to check up on concepts, the latest happenings in technology, people’s wit and the solutions they come up with.
But most times, I look up businesses with great thinkers, for example, Tech giant company Apple. I kinda love their business model.

Having done that for some time, it is safe to conclude that the best place to build a business is around a problem.

If your business solves a problem;
You don’t have to spend much money marketing it.

God is mentioned in every continent of the world, in many different languages, and on the lips of every human on earth because he is the problem solver, he makes things happen.

You do not have to spend a lot of money marketing hospitals because it solves a problem (healthcare). The fact that it answers the healthcare issue is enough marketing because there will always be patients, and there will always be sick folks.

Any time you dabble in an idea, be it a concept, a business or a movement, when you engage it, you will be successful so long as it solves problems.

Old age is a Life Well Lived, having made the right choices.

A life well-lived is a life full of solutions. The most incredible people in the world are those who were indispensable to their generation were all problem solvers.

What about you?

The times you had an ego boost in your life’s journey were times you positioned yourself as a problem solver. Be it being there for someone or making a fellow’s life easier. Are there not times were you offered help to someone who could repay you in any way

As kids, the child who owned the soccer ball did not have to worry if he would play irrespective of how bad he was; boys can relate.

I don’t have enough examples for girls. Still, the girl child who was the problem solver was the child that knew how to respect her elders, take correction and was neat in her appearance (small children drama).

Bringing It Home
We don’t need an answer when someone asks us ‘how we are. We ain’t that serious. And I don’t blame those who are depressed because people don’t really care, so when asked how they are, they answer — Fine.

Try voicing out your problems and see how fast people repel you.

People repels problem
But respond to solution

There is a good chance someone out there has the same problem as you. If you have passed through any life challenge, there is even a greater chance someone else needs your aid to navigate their circumstance, because there is nothing new under the sun.

Truth is, everyone is a problem solver in his/her own little way; the problem is we are masking our lives to be perfect.

If you have ever been depressed, someone out there needs to hear how you came out of depression. If you have been stranded and short of cash, someone out there needs to know how you survived. If you have been rejected, someone needs the silver lining of your story.

Make up your mind to put something out there that projects a solution.

You can never tell who will walk up to you in some years to come, thanking you for offering your own 2 cents.

The United States of America consulate was near enemy lines during a war in one of the Islamised nations. The consular general had straight orders, “STAND DOWN”.

So it came to pass when other neighbouring establishments were being attacked and torn down into pieces, the American soldiers were eager to help, but the Consular General was adamant about obeying orders from above.

Ever heard of the word “Mutiny”?

It is used in the Military when a soldier disobeys his master or disobeys a direct order. When this happens, that soldier is done for. He becomes a treasonable fellow and must be severely dealt with by the forces backing the Military.

The soldiers went ahead and committed mutiny. They saved other establishments and citizens of a foreign nation. Though some died, it was a sign of bravery; the ones alive became treasonable fellows by the Law backing the Military.

What was their reason, one may ask?

They made their stance known to the Consular General, “if we let them take the neighbouring installations, where do you think would be the next?”.
Even the Consular General was convinced by their statement.

The follow-up of the story was that they were not punished.

How were they not punished one may ask?

The Consular General made a way of escape for them; he allowed them to resign immediately after their operation. By that, the Military could not punish them except by starving them of little benefits like pension, welfare and the likes.

Though they lost their benefits and became treasonable fellows, none of them alive was without any regret.
The Hall-mark of a life well-lived is full of wise choices.
Theirs was not an exception.
